sure, if you're into wobbly thing. i personally can't stand to hear another wobbly bass or lead. and to me, Massive sounds over produced, if you know what i mean. not to my taste, i guess. but hey, maybe that's what abort is looking for and i'm totally misleading him...jeskola01 wrote: Nah! Massive is excellent for this kind of thing for the intricate modulation routing you can do with it that you can't do with any other synth.

Been loving dubstep myself lately, but also aware that it's blowing up these days and therefore dead. Once everyone's on it it's too late.
Of course, that's only if you're concerned about whats trendy or not, rather than whats coming out of the speakers

Predator is way better than Albino 3 and maybe even Massive for dubstep leads and basses. it even has a great preset bank for dubstep in the latest version.
Check it out!

problem is when a trend in music gets distilled down to a few presets and techniques....i.e. set your tempo to 140, use this wobble preset and viola - DUBSTEP!
could say the same for glitch-hop at this point - think I've heard enough for now.

Hey guys, It's too late to get into House music. The genre is already totally overloaded...
As for Dubstep - there is a lot of exciting, good music out there that doesn't sound like Half-Time + Wobble. Plenty of amazing producers are incorporating other styles and truly making some outstanding stuff. Check out Scuba, Untold, Ramadanman, Pangaea, Joy Orbison, etc - Rusko is just the tip of the iceburg - get below the surface.
If you are interested in Dubstep, here is a general guide:
1. Space, pace, and bass
2. Generally 140
3. Use interesting sound design
4. (Optional) Please avoid making cliche, halfstep, wobble dubstep
5. (Optional) Please avoid using overdone, heavily distorted, harmonic rich, midrange bass.

luckily, that's not all that dubstep today have to offer. check out Scuba's new Sub:Stance mix and you'll see there's much more then a wobbly bass. if we're talking about trends, i'd say that 2-step is big (again).nylarch wrote:problem is when a trend in music gets distilled down to a few presets and techniques....i.e. set your tempo to 140, use this wobble preset and viola - DUBSTEP!

totally agree - the interesting people are taking it somewhere else, and generally avoiding wobble I might add. I'm liking Martyn a lot lately who's really a mashup of a lot of diff styles.luckily, that's not all that dubstep today have to offer.

I like that - describes most of the music I've liked the past 20 years from Charles Mingus to Kode9.1. Space, pace, and bass
