The Akai APC 40 + Maschine

Hello everybody.

Any one knows if it's possible to run Maschine on a laptop, Live 8 +Apc 40 on another and sync the two laptops in some way?
This is because Maschine takes a lot of CPU on my Toshiba, and I suppose it would be better to divide both things.

i think its possable to run a midi clock over lan, im sure someone can fill in the details of what is required. im keen to do this kind of thing my self soon.

so you say match two laptops with a midi clock recognizer over lan ( excuse me but i'm not very practic..)

In the first laptop running Maschine, and then via lan send the signal into the second laptop running LIve8, and insert Maschine in a MIDI channle inside LIve like a VST? that will be amazing!

do a search for midi over lan, im sure it will have been discussed before.

ive never done the midi thing but did experiment with running VST's on a seperate machine sending the audio over lan. i had live running on 1 machine playing a drum loop over the lan to glitch wich fed the effectover the lan and into live.

cant remeber the name of the software but it was a freeware app do a search on google or KVR for audio over lan and it should point you in the right direction.

it was something i stumbled across and just looked into briefly as a sort of hmmm that might come in handy one day. at the time i had 3 comps on the lan but couldnt dedicate one so just had a quick play and left it at that.

if you can output from both machines into a mixer, i would recomend just syncing them using a midi clock over the lan.

but if maschine works as plugin it can defo be sent over lan.

im prety sure you can rewire over lan as well thesedays so it might be worth having a search for onfo on that, if maschine supports rewire.

yeah maschine does take a lot of cpu, but soon in 1.1 they say maschine wont use as much cpu. But i run my maschine with live and +apc40 everyday, never have a problem. love the set up work's nice together.

Can U run Maschine in slave mode and stop it running? ( I really can't) To stop Maschine i have to stop Ableton.

I triyed to use MIDI YOKE, bbut is the same, and as i put Ableton as aSlave of Maschine, it stops Ableton as i stop Maschine.

What i'ld like, to run Maschine as a VSTi synced to Ableton and start and stop Maschine freely.

Anyone knows how?
