Anyone using a PC?

Post by Gilboe » Mon Dec 24, 2001 5:16 am

I just discovered Live today, and I'm thrilled so far. I've been checking out the demo. The question I had is that everyone here seems to be on a Mac, is anyone using a PC?

How reliable is it? What soundcards have the best latency? Are you able to moniter a few inputs trough Live with effects (If you have a multi-input card)

Just really curious. This product seems to be what many studio-oriented musicians have been looking for to finally be able to go perform Live!

yes it is a TOP Audio software i have seen in years considering LIVE is only on v.1.0.3 i am cant wait to see what they additions ABLETONS will will have in next version which is promissed in april .Will they remain content with what they have done? thats what seem to be most soft creators desease,.or will they come up with more creative features! But anyhow, i am using LIVE under WINDOWS XP and it seems to be well written, well thought soft ,it does not crash.
you can do all of what you asked for.
as far as Sound card is consearned Creamwares PowerSampler with Luna v3.1 (thats what i am using)works big time Luna offers ultra low ASIO SETUP with wirtually no latency and exellent routing options and because LIVE supports asio if P.Sampler is too big for your pocket get a Sound Card with ASIO suport by any means because its AUDI Program right! if yo dont want to have problems!
I hope above helps

Yes , many use a PC for Ableton. In fact many tests have been done and it seems that a PC has more power than a Mac.

PS.

I am not trying to upset Mac users, just telling the facts.

Well, it is interesting to see how things change.

But if you must have the absolute truth, yesterday I noticed a not quite as old thread revived that I found quite annoying at the time. So, as my personal way of saying "I, smutek, am irritated by the revival of an old thread that I personally found annoying," I went looking for a very old thread to revive. Probably makes no sense eh? Well... I have been out of my mind with a cold for the better part of a week now so in my phlem and cold saturated brain it was sheer brilliance.

There you have it.

Some interesting reads back around page 200.
