Novation Remote25 rotary encoders and Live

Post by blacklightmartin » Sun Mar 20, 2005 1:11 pm

Hi all,

After having bought an Alesis Photon X25 yesterday and being rather disappointed with it, I am now looking into the Novation Remote25 again and wondered whether someone could help me with one specific question.

I know that the rotary encoders on the Remote25 have no real option (real in the sense of the OS offering this) of sending relative controller values, but wouldn't it be possible to fake that by limiting the range of the encoders from 64 to 65 and then using the Signed Bit 2 controller mode in Live when assigning an encoder to a function in Live?

I would be very grateful if someone could maybe test this and post their results here.

Cheers,
Martin

Hi!

That doesn't workl properly. It works into the one direction - but the step size is too small, it takes many turns the ableton poti from one to the other side.

Nick Bookman from Novation mentioned, that he will tell the programmers to solve the problem, i hope there will be an OS update soon.
