Live freezes all the time

Hello,

I've got a Sempron 3000 PC with 1 GB RAM and the E-mu 1010 soundcard with output box. I've got the latest drivers from Emu. I use Windows XP.

The problem is: Ableton freezes all the time, especially after first starting up. The levelmeters freeze and Live doesn't react to any command.
If I'll wait long enough, it will unfreeze.

Suddenly it becomes stable again. This happens independent from CPU usage (20-50% max).

I use a lot of VSTi's and fx.

Does anyone know what it could be?

I would suspect a 3rd party vst or vsti. Try pulling them out and launching. If it seems to fix it you can replace them one by one and try to locate the offending plug or instrument.

Also, if Live was running fine before you might try and recall any plugs you installed around the time Live started misbehaving.

Don't know for sure if this is your problem but it seems like a good place to start.
