indicators of hard disk buffer overload

Post by baseinstinct » Sat Jan 23, 2010 12:38 am

What are they?

In other daws there is a separate meter.

I am getting cpu overload even though

project is smaller (40 tracks) than my biggest ones (60 tracks)
no new VST(i) used
I even resampled many of the clips and removed then redundant fx

Still, I am getting playback clicks and slowdown, especially on playback start. The CPU meter soars, but for the above reasons I thing my caviar black 7200 rpm hard disk is the cause.

How can I check it?

Look in the top right corner. There's a D. It stands for Dammish mine hard disk is 1 broke. When it lights you invoke glitch across your megadrive thus summoning the ghost of Michel Chion.

Peace out and RTFM. xx
