fair enough... good to hear it's working because as I said before, it's actually a good algorithm, it's just very glitchy

Ah freezing seems to be a pretty good work around. Thanks!

Weirdly enough I can DJ with it mostly fine, because these errors only occur when a clip starts/loops. As long as I'm just A/Bing I can get away with it.
Could it really be that it's a CPU spike... I mean 70=80%? I've got a fairly decent c2d 2.16.

I'd also like to point out that Traktor uses the same algorithm and it runs fine on much lesser hardware.

Hm, well I've always used it too and only recently noticed the hiccups..which makes me think either my machine is starting to show a little wear (possible, it is 3 years old even though I've recently reformatted the drives) or else, the recent updates in Ableton have slightly changed the way that CP uses resources...or could be the new clips I've added?

But for me, as I don't even use beats but just needed the warp mode for follow actions (something SIGH I wish Ableton would work out for us non-rhythmic based users) it's fine to go without warp-modes when I can. I definitely don't like the feeling of not being secure that the machine/program will cope mid-set!

Bump.

I'm getting these spikes too, and in my most recent set, the CPU usage averages at 30%. Any change with the 8.1.3 RC, anyone?

nuther bump. are people still seeing this complex pro glitch recently?

i had the impression that i've been seeing the issue less often in recent updates but it's still there for me... i thought i'd bring it up again because in my last recorded dj mix (external mixer recording back into live) i also got the glitch using repitch - from a pre-set pre-switched on loop, all tunes repitch, cpu generally at 2%, never above 3%, nothing else going on on my laptop (only live open, airport off) - no problem in the warping, and the looped clip played on normally after two glitches. i just read the quoted support comment about ultra-momentary cpu spikes and complex pro, so it doesn't look like there's a fix on the way for this, but this is the first time i remember seeing it in repitch as well.

i carried on and left the glitch in the recording but it is effing annoying, almost more so because it's just random. i've got round it before by switching from complex pro or consolidating. glitchy arrangements usually come through ok on export too, but it's a big problem if you can't trust repitch live.

anyway, for info: macbook pro 2.33ghz intel core 2 duo, 2mb ram, 500gb 7200rpm hd, audio 8 dj into djm800, 3 audio channels in live + 1 for recording djm output. live 8.2.1, OSX 10.6.5

I guess I have read these forums more often.
I recently upgraded from LE7 to full 8 and was loving the Complex Pro warp mode - until it constantly crashed my live DJ sets. My CPU would be at 15-30 percent but starting a new track would cause a spike so large that the audio would stop for 1/2 second.
I guess I need to go back to one of the other warp modes for live sets and save Complex Pro for exporting audio.

Still having this issue myself, happened 3 times in my last DJ set. (the Tipper one on my website, you can hear it twice in the first 10 minutes.)

I can chime in on this one. Only noticed it recently about 3-4 months ago when preparing my very first live-performances
and im not too happy with it.
As for DJ Sets im going with Re-Pitch whenever possible because of the sound-quality.

I am experiencing this in the most recent releases of Live. If I have a track with two regions in complex pro mode, and the regions are transposed (say +2 st) and are adjacent to one another, then when the playhead passes over that point it creates a pop that is audible even when that track is muted. I found that consolidating the entire track fixed things in that case, but generally seeing lots of pops at region boundaries with complex pro mode.
