Sampler help?

Where can I find some in depth instruction or tutorials on SAMPLER? There are so many parameters in the filters, modulators, etc. and I need a book or some sort of reference guide telling what each one does. I watched the tutorials that came with the liscense but they were very vague. I need something that tells me what parameter or filter that I need to adjust to obtain different effects. and if possible what areas affect the instruments and or music and in what particular way.
If I compose a piece of music and record it into Live 8.1 can I sequence together a group of band instruments to smoothly play the music? I have a pc os(Vista) and am importing the music with a midi keyboard. My instruments are from a sample cd "Whole Lotta Country". Everything I have produced up to now sounds choppy. I have a lot of loops, one shots, strums, chords, tremelos, and sustains available, but no instruction as to what to do with them. This forum has helped me in many ways so far so I am really hoping for some imput to get me out of the hole I have dug. Thanx Stan

I would recommend to start off with the lessons coming with the Samplification Livepack:

For a brief overview of what every parameter does, I would recommend to keep an eye on Live´s info view, while hovering over them with your mouse.

Oh that info window!! Duh, I had it hidden for more work space. Thanx Jorg, it is a very helpful tool. Can you tell me if the choppy midi notes I hear on playback could be caused by my using a fixed velocity setting on my midi keyboard? Thanx again, Stan

Hi Stan,

it´s really hard to give an advice regarding the choppiness from here, normally incorrect sample&loop start/end setting would come to my mind first as a possible cause.
