yes, a balancing of interest groups with the citizens excluded. That is called tyranny and should be opposed with all available meansadventurepants_ wrote: Democracy is the balancing of interest groups, not the extension of an equal franchise to every citizen as some might believe.

I would say that they are controlled by the banking houses...

I of course never said anything about a coordinated grand conspiracy... but assuming that, is the routine and conditioned response of the left. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard the same regurgitated thing almost word for word. Try thinking for yourself.adventurepants_ wrote: As for 'propaganda manipulation', I think you are seeing conspiracies where there is only self interest. Im not saying that there isnt collusion between big business and government in order to feather their own nests and maintain their power, but the smoky back room where these elites conspire in a coordinated grand scheme against the proles exists only in the fevered imaginations of conspiracy theorists. I agree with Chomsky, this is about cash, not conspiracies.

I don't really understand all of the posturing, if most agree that things are not right, no matter who's to blame, then what do you want to do about it besides quoting other peoples quotes, seriously how do you think these problems can be solved?

And this is just your comments on the first page. You clearly make several claims about grand conspiracies. You have very clearly tied Obama into a conspiracy with big business and possibly the military. (As if every first year politics student doesnt know about the Military-Industrial complex) You also like throwing around the term "propaganda manipulation". Your very language implies some agent or agents doing this manipulation for their own ends against the public interest, as might be termed a grand conspiracy.
Youre pretty much just trolling at this point.

First make the US Constitution legal again..starving student wrote:I don't really understand all of the posturing, if most agree that things are not right, no matter who's to blame, then what do you want to do about it besides quoting other peoples quotes, seriously how do you think these problems can be solved?
Follow the US Constitution, our federal government has gotten so far removed from it that it is just something they can wipe their butts with..
Elect public servants who will honor their Oaths of Offices and the US Constitution..
Educate yourself to the laws of the land.. good place to start http://www.campaignforliberty.com
Become active in your local governments city, county and state.
Re: Keynote or State of the Union...
i recommend you do what you can to make sure your LOCAL state government is doing what need to be doing and that you have the right representatives in senate and house. you have absolutely no control over what your president does. the president, despite popular american opinion, is not there for you. don't blame your president for anything. he is a face and ambassador to other nations. they are NOT his ideas in the greatest sense i assure you. you do not even get to elect your president. lobbyists and ...these guys... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_college do it for you. yes, it really is sick. don't worry, american government is not the only farce. it is best to just leave the politics to the politician and read your books/cross-reference viable sources so you can do your tiny little part and visit the voting booth when its time. democracy is illusory at this juncture.
oh and as i said before.. one of the largest, if not the largest, lobby is...yes, Israel.

All in all, good advice. Acting locally is a major step towards effecting change on a broader scale. It does add up.

yup... you cannot actually defend your guy Obama so you call me a troll... powerful man, really powerful. I've stayed on topic and provided factual data to back up what I said. I notice you don't actually refute any of it.adventurepants_ wrote:Deva said:

It is not a grand conspiracy as if a single group of people plan everything out. There is a complex mix of conspiratorial aspects, self interest, opportunism, etc.

Ive never mentioned that Obama was my dude. Youre deliberately misrepresenting my argument, and you also change your argument every time a point is countered. You said 'propaganda manipulation', not me. Maybe you dont understand the meaning of the words youre using?
You also seem to mistake "Deva's unsubstantiated opinion" with "factual data". Facts have references.
I like it that you have passion for your beliefs, but this is weak sauce.

it's like blaming the new kid on the block for your neighborhood being bad, what is it about obama that makes him so special compared to the folks that have done much worse for much longer?deva wrote:yup... you cannot actually defend your guy Obama so you call me a troll... powerful man, really powerful. Re: Keynote or State of the Union...
it's so funny, I remember clearly observing the fact that Obama was nothing but a salesman and a conman when he was running for president. He could talk a mile a minute and never really say a thing and he was constantly having to correct his verbal mistakes. I stated as much and was called everything from a racist to a right wing extremist. Now most of those same accusatory people are on the "Obama's a crook and windbag" bandwagon.
some people are nothing but a rerun waiting to happen.
one word. revolution or sit n spin. WTFU
