trigger from audio track?

I was wondering if there is anyway to trigger a wav file from an audio track? As an example, let's say I recorded a band with a full drum kit. I would like the kick drum track from the drum kit to trigger a hand-clap every time the kick drum plays.

I know you can trigger from midi, but can you trigger from an audio track?

Not excactly trigger but you can put a gate unit on the clap track and send the kick to the sidechain of the gate. The clap will only play when the kick opens the gate.
