Hi, hi,
I have some questions for all y'all out there using Live + a live band. We have 4 tracks of backing tracks for each song, and multiple songs in multiple tempos. Ideally, we don't want to have to keep opening sessions for each song, so I'm trying to figure out the best setup. Right now we have all the songs across the timeline in Arrangement mode.
Some of the songs have loops in them that we're toggling on/off with a MIDI controller, so that's problem #1. I've made markers for each loop, but since you can only have one loop per arrangement, one of us will have to run over and move the loop.
Problem #2 is not really a problem, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. We're automating the tempo changes in the Master track, is there a more precise way? Right now I'm just recording myself changing the tempo and copy/pasting it to the right place.
What should we do? Thanks in advance for your tips-n-tricks!

Re: Multi-Song Setup Help
For problem two you can rename the scene (next to the Play buttons on the master track in grid view) and name them 115BPM and when you launch that scene, it switches the bpm to 115 for example.

Oh man, thanks for that tip! That's awesome.
Re: Multi-Song Setup Help
We use Session View, with Scenes for each part of the song (verse, chorus, etc). Sometimes, we use Follow Actions for all the clips in a given row, to move through the song as we normally will. From there, you could set clips to toggle and map to individual clips (leaving them out of the Follow Actions for that row, if necessary).
I think all of what you're trying to do CAN be done. Sounds like (from the word "markers") you're working in Arrangement view. Try Session. I think you'll like it.
