[OT] Ableton's summing bus

Post by ethios4 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 5:40 pm

I know this is very OT for the Lounge, but has anyone noticed Ableton's mix engine is really inferior to Pro-Tools?

I think Records mixer faders throw harder than Abletons. Just throwing that out there.

Good....building some consensus here....Ableton's mix bus is crap, and it's better to mix your tracks through a DJ mixer. There really is something to this Lounge thing....really getting down to brass tacks here now that we can properly chill out.

I've discovered that Ableton sounds much better than other DAWs providing you always render on a Thursday evening. Monday afternoons are the worst. The difference is like night and day. I don't feel the need to do any double blind, or phase inversion tests because the difference is so obvious. Anyone who doesn't hear this is obviously a cloth eared idiot.

This is in the UK. It's possible that results may vary according to time zone.

There's also a sweet spot a 3:23am on Tuesday morning and again at 4:34am on Wednesday morning.....possibly they are harmonics of each other??
