Midi Keyboard and Ableton Octaves.

Post by AivarasTR » Wed Feb 03, 2010 12:18 pm

Hey,

When I push any key on my midi keyboard it sound very well, but ableton octaves(on midi clip) didn't flash when I push keyboard.
I remember it was working some time ago(red flash in ableton midi clip(near red and white rectangulars) when pushing key on keyboard), but now I it doesn't work and I can't find a solution.

I hope you understood my problem as my English is not perfect.
If it's unclear I will post screenshot.

Thanks for any help.

(I painted that red color.)

So for example I push C3 on my Midi Keyboard and at the same moment C3 in ableton midi clip flashes(like in picture) as long as I keep C3 pushed on my keyboard. So it shows me what octave I push on my keyboard. But now it doesn't work.. Nothing happens, no colour, nothing. (I hear a sound and everything is working just fine).

Ok, I see... is the track armed? it's possible that you're hearing the sound if monitoring is set to "in" and the track is not armed... that would make the piano-roll note not appear. Or maybe you changed the display skin in live?

Oh, it worked!

Monitoring was set to in, that's why. I used to push IN to listen to the sound with my keyboard, because with "auto" there were no sound.
Didn't thought about armed.

Thanks for a fast help!

You can set Monitor to AUTO and you will hear the keyboard if the track is armed.
