Whenever I hear "made in china" in association with higher end Audio Gear - I feel slightly uneasy. I would like to know if anyone has used the Prodipe Pro Ribbon 8's... I've read some good reviews of these speakers (soundonsound)
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun09/a ... onpro8.htm
They claim that they provide a very high end design and materials (for the price) - and the price is "low" due to China outsourcing.
If you have used these speakers I'd love to hear your feedback... In the $500-600 range, is there anything else you'd recommend?
thanks

it looks like samson rubicon ribbons.. I do like the "bi-amped" logo in the front.

. but no, I've never really heard of the brand Prodipe..

I've heard of the brand, but they are more associated with microphones AFAIK.
They're a French company who use Chinese assembled products.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same components as the Samson Rubicon, which are decent enough monitors in that price range.

Prodipe is quite popular in France, not a surprise as their value for money is excellent.
I have a pair of Pro8s, the first generation without the ribbon tweeter, I use them to (DJ) mix, they do the job. A great improvement from my K-RoKs.
The ribbon are said to be even better...
Worth checking IMHO.
