akai apc 40 professional edition free upgrade

hey guys, i understood that you could upgrade from the version that comes with the apc to live intro for free, has anyone else done this?

Sorry, that's not the case. You can upgrade from Live LE to Live Intro for free, but the version which comes with the APC40 (and most other software bundles which include a version of Live) is Live Lite.

Has anyone here actually upgraded from the apc edition to live 8 with the $399 version upgrade for Ableton Live Lite to Ableton Live 8?? I'm worried because I'm thinking of buying the apc 40 or 20 and the boxed "Ableton Live 8 Upgrade from Live Lite" but besides this post, I haven't been able to see a definite answer as to whether someone has succeeded in doing this.

Also, is there a difference in the apc edition between the version with the apc20 vs. 40??
