Honnestly, I tried the lemur, and I am absolutely convinced that you got to have real buttons to launch clips. I need to feel them under my fingers to launch complex combinations of clips.
APC, LP, and Monome are the best choices to make.

i have both lemur and launchpad, and i'm considering selling the launchpad. depends on how one uses it, i guess.. i don't care much about the physical buttons. physical knobs i'd love, though.. :)

Question of taste and feeling... BTW, are still the knobs on the lemur un-resizable ?

haven't tested them. could well be. i use no knobs, only faders. they're more logical to use for me on a touchscreen than knobs. i'll check that out tonight.

That has got to be the least exciting lemur video I have ever seen. Nothing but clip launching is blah.

I don't think it was meant to be seen. It just happens to show some new tech that the guys at Jazzmutant are putting out. From the rumors I hear, the cliplauncher is just a part of it. There is a lot more to come. I don't know for sure yet, but as soon as I have more info, you can be sure I will post it on max4live.info.

I thought clip launch could be done a long time ago even before M4L and it would even display clip names. I think there was some max patch that was needed but it was freely available.

their was and it was done through the api

it was wicked finicky and didnt really sit well with the program

a large majority of lemur users couldnt get it to work and when it did for me it seemed like it wasnt controling live but suggesting and lets cross our fingers

technog0d - interesting. yeah, I'm gonna wait and see what people do with the iPad and see how Jazz Mutant responds. finally someone stepped into the ring with the legendary Lemur, NOW LET'S GET READY RUMMMMBLLLLE!!! it's a win for us consumers.
