i trashed the reaktor preference file, since then 'knocking on wood' it's been flawless.

on my system, i need to do this every other week

There's no reason you would need to do this with a legal version. If you're legit, contact support.

AAS just put out a bug fix of an issue that occurred in live... well it fixed it, but now the new version of tassman4 causes issues in Logic8
just saying that support and the usual 'upgrade to the latest version' answer does not always fix everything, besides trashing the pref file on OSX is one of the first things supports often suggest, because it is well known for the apple OS (already under 9 and still in 10) that it often does fix issues.

i, for example try to stay away as much as possible for permanently upgrading all my software (always the first thing a support suggests), plugs and what not, i will always try other solutions first before going that route...

that is just a police comment you placed there.

I think ew is speaking specifically for NI's Reaktor (since he's one of the NI moderators on their forum... a very helpful guy IMHO).

I've had no problems with Reaktor as a plugin, but still can't get the standalone to work in Live 8.

I have no problem with Reaktor in Live but as of recently if I'm using an instance in Logic 8 and want to quit the application I have to close the project first, then quit Logic (instead of just quitting Logic) or Logic hangs, the CPU goes nuts and I have to force quit it. Only only on projects with an instance of Reaktor and all legal versions here.

I know Live users probably don't care but since a NI moderator is lurking

that's more accusational than helpful ew. its a bit poor pointing fingers at the (legit) user. the program, like all programs, has it's flaws.

Try rereading his post...

He's saying that if you are a legit user, then you should use utilize the benefits that afforded to you as a legal purchaser, such as NI Support.

In other words, your experience is an unusual experience that might have a solution. Contact NI support to get this addressed.

I love Reaktor.. not had any problems on my mbp with latest Live and Reaktor versions installed..

And +1 to ew being a very helpful guy.. he helped me get up and running over christmas just gone!!
