PC to Mac

Post by mr-magoo » Tue Feb 16, 2010 2:51 am

Im concidering the jump, from Pc to Mac. The Pc i have at the moment is optimised for music production by Inta Audio, Uk. Can i buy off the shelf the i5 apple imac, without optimising it for music production? Or is there tweeks i should concider?

Does anybody connect to the internet with their imac?

What effect of connecting to the internet will it have on the machine?

If u have the answers, please adivse me....

regards

I use a macbook pro connected to internet without any optimizing what so ever and it works much better than my PC laptop (allmost the same specs, wife got new surfing board from it after i bought the MPB "just for audio use").
Well OK i had to disable my audio interface from OSX soundcard configuration to prevent double usage latencys or something like that. But that isn't really optimizing compared to windows stuff.. And there is a piece of software that helps you to do it on the fly called Soundsource

Dont worry about connecting your mac to the internet.
Mac's dont have the problem PC's have.

I used PC's for 15 years and they are fine but I would never ever go back (ever!)

Macs do not need to be optimized.
