Optimum ASIO Settings for Win7 and Focusrite Saffire 6 USB?
Optimum ASIO Settings for Win7 and Focusrite Saffire 6 USB?
I have a Dell XPS laptop, Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram, Windows 7, Ableton Live 8.1.1 Suite...
I recently purchased the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. And I'm trying to figure out the optimum settings for it.
The ASIO config only allows:
Buffer Length: Default = 10ms, Range = 1ms - 20ms
Sample Rate: Default 48000, Choices = 41000, 48000
Sample Format: Default 24 bit, Choices 16 bit, 24 bit
What is the best settings? Is there any other tweaking I should be concerned about?

My ideal setup would be, 44100 @ 24 bit. Then about 10 ms and below is good. Heck even 15... I might try to pick that soundcard next week too because I heard it's good and USB. Tired of dealing with firewire anymore. Especially for laptop which has a 4-pin firewire.
Equipments: Softwares, hardwares, plastics and metal controllers, computers, headphones, a pair monitor speaker, and electricity to power them up.

Yep, dude. Got sick of my Firebox so I sold it. Still waiting for the payment to be cleared. After the shipment is recieved by the buyer, I'd definitely buy that. I heard the pres itself is worth the price already. Also, how's the USB 1 slot? That's my only worry, but I guess not, coz I have a USB Steinberg soundcard also and it doesn't give any problems at all.LOL

I'm interested in this interface as well. Maybe I'm being daft, but for the life of me I can't seem to find sample rate/bit rate specs for it on the web.....
Thanks..
So these are the only sample rate options? no 44.1kHz? or 96kHz?EnjoyRC wrote: The ASIO config only allows:

It's all good though, 44100 for CD quality music, 48 for DVD. You'll only need 96 if it's surround sound.

Yeah, I'm fine with 44.1kHz/24 bit - but again - where did you find these specs?
I'm goin nuts here trying to find actual official documentation for this unit that has sample/bit rate info....
