How to save MIDI Controller settings?

I'm very new to Live and try to use an Evolution UC-33e controller to control various knobs and faders in Live but once I've quit the application these settings are lost. Is there a way to store these settings or will they be always stored only within the current project? If so it would be cool if a default project could be loaded when starting! Is that possible?

Yes. Once you've set up all your assignments, go into Preferences/Defaults, and click on "save as default project" (or words to that effect... I'm not at my Live pc right now...)
