Mapping

Post by eversoul43 » Fri Feb 19, 2010 3:34 pm

I tried mapping scolling, and it scrolls all 6 tracks up and down. If I map play. It fires ALL tracks in whichever scene. I'd like to map a rotary knob with push button to work like a mouse. Turn the knob to scroll clip by clip, then jump to the next row and scroll down etc and whenever the knob is scrolled to a particular clip, use the push button on that knob to play ONLY that clip(like how the mouse works). When I want to stop the clip. turn the knob till it highlights the stop area. Push the button again. Can that be done?

Yeah this is a crazy idea my man. Don't think it's going to work.. I can imagine how it WOULD work, but I doubt you're going to come up with some kind of workaround, it just isn't going to work like that..

Like one rotary that scrolls X and another one that scrolls Y, and one can be play and the other can be a stop (or they can be the same button if you're using Toggle mode for your clips)..

I think mapping the arrow keys and the enter button is going to be the closest setup you can get going. Could be wrong, people come up with some pretty wild shit so don't let me put you're idea to death!

yeah worse come to worse I have all my levels mapped cool. I can just peck play and stop with the mouse. My mixer has 2 effex processors so I don't need to mess with all the ableton efx. I'll keep goofin with it but either way it's working pretty well. Maybe I'll migrate that concept over to the wish list....
