Two possibilities: one if you're not a snob, and one if you are.buzby wrote:size is the most important issue here
Re: does anyone know what speakers these are ?
^^^ since when is paying for an incredible manufacturing quality besides the sound and an unmatched stereo and depth image and a guarantee of a full service for all parts of a minimum of 10 years after the product is discontinued next to a general top class service in all areas (they care about all their customers the same, no matter of you are an owner of a pair of 6010s or 1032s or a custom install system) a snob thing? genelec is actually dead cheap for what it is, and not expensive at all, like most people think, get something else from another manufacturer that matches in just some respect up, and you pay at least double. (like PMC, the only monitor that can match up with them, IMHO, but starting at a way higher price range)
bose here is the way overpriced / overhyped mediocre crap.
i think you twisted the links

Actually, I was being part facetious, part not.SubFunk wrote:i think you twisted the links
Fact of the matter is, I use a pair of Genelecs (plus the 5040A subwoofer) with my computer, and I have a pair of Bose 901 speakers hanging from my living-room ceiling. They each have their place.
The little Bose speakers I mentioned sound pretty good, but they're more expensive than I would expect, and I'd never use them for monitors. The 901's have two interesting properties: (1) Because they bounce sound off the walls, they sound pretty good wherever you are in the room, which is great for parties, and (2) If you hang them from the ceiling, they take up no floor space at all and the cats can't reach them to scratch at their grill cloth. Such things matter.
