slow start-up

It's taking about 40 seconds for Live Suite (8.1.1) to open. The initialization of the application takes longer than usual. I've run library repair as well as permissions repair on my Mac, but to no avail. I'd be grateful for any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to improve the situation.

Hi, and thanks for the link to your post. In fact, I'd already read it in my search of the forum. In my case I get the splash screen for a full 40+/- seconds, with "Initializing the application..." appearing for a long while in the bottom left hand corner. Once I get the screen of a new Live set, everything is fine. It does not appear to be the same difficulty you encountered.

As far as I can recall, I haven't changed anything in my system that might have provoked this new behaviour. I should also add that if I quit and restart, Live opens much faster the second time. Once Live has been closed for a while and the Mac has slept, start-up then becomes a long process again.

I haven't updated to 8.1.1 yet because I am using Live for some important (live) work at the moment and prefer not to change anything. The problem might go away once I've updated, though I wouldn't mind solving the issue now.

I made an error in my initial post. I am using L 8.1, not 8.1.1. Sorry 'bout that.

I installed L 8.1.1. It opens super-fast and so does 8.1 now.
Mystery solved, sort of.
