So I am fucked up. Thank you very much.
I have been very polite with ableton, but I am starting to feel really angry. In fact I just spent about three weeks of non-stop work on L8 to prepare my live set, after waiting for one year to have a working version of ableton live. I mean, I live 100% with my music, ableton live is my work tool, and it is still not totally reliable. Ableton, would you pay me the 40 gigs I am going to cancel ?

lol. Welcome to the club. Yet another longtime Live user who's love has suddenly turned cold. Your problem with 8.1.1 is exactly the same as mine; autofade or no autofade. Clicks/Snaps/Crackles when I'm done recording a loop and playback starts. Went back to 8.0.8, but crackles appear when the LP is engaged. About to test 8.0.9.

Incidently, I was using 8.1.1 extensively before the problem started to occur. Is that the same with you?

Thanx for the links guys, I was on 8.0.5 and realized that after all these years of Ableton recognizing the things that live users have been asking for (refined functionality of existing Live devices: Automation curves, timestretch in Simpler/Sampler,,, etc), that the basic function is not as important as (buggy) specialized features. So I think I will stop with 8.0.9.

What do tou mean y "when the LP is engaged".

I cannot say when this problem has appeared, since It is not that bad, just annoying. With drums around, You can't notice them. Only when it's quiet.

LP = Launchpad. My crackle with 8.1.1 is horrendous and very noticeable. I was at a gig when it first happened and thought a bolt of lightning had struck the PA system. 8O

i'm pretty sure it doesn't work.
Dragging tracks does work, it's got me out of a few corrupt project situations in 8.1

I'm on OSX, but I don't see any reason why it would be OS specific.

Dragging tracks from one version of Live to an earlier version does not work. Just tried with 8.1.1 to 8.0.9

If you can get that to work, you've got some voodoo going on that I don't know about.

If it doesn't work, than I'm not sure what the point is because you can always open up an older version set with a newer version and just save as.

I just got an answer from ableton. They can reproduce the bug, so I have good hopes that it's gonna be fixed sooner or later... I am starting to breathe again.

Fair point, I hadn't tried it cross versions, I have only used it to retrieve tracks from a corrupt project that wouldn't open, but that was from a project saved in the same version.

I think you have previous midi mappings which block default setting of the launchpad.
Erase any midi mapping and your launchpad should be ok. on 8.0.9
8.1.1 was barely tried, as soon as I saw the backward UNcompatibility, I moved back to 8.0.9_
So I can't tell about LP and 8.1.1

Things are getting better : I seems to have a link with the bpm. Increasing or decreasing the tempo can solve the problem. For now, this seem to save me...
