that said.. my parents did this experiment to show us when I was about 8yo...
although they did it with cooked chicken..
the coke actually disolved it pretty quickly(less than a year).. down to the bone...

Try it again, it doesn't work. Coke's ability to dissolve stuff is a fallacy.

It also doesn't even rot your teeth particularly. In fact potati chips are worse becasue the starch clings to your teeth and gets stuck between them in a way that coke cannot.

Test it all your self, put a fork in some coke, an old milk tooth or one of your childrens when one falls out, chicken, whatever. leave it in a glass of coke as long as you like.

We've used it before to clean corrosion off of a battery cable and it did a good job. For my wife it is a huge deal that people actually drink this stuff, I just write it off to the general fizziness, it didn't bother me at all and I enjoy roughly one soda a day.

yes but only dr pepper, put it in the mic for 2 minutes, get it hot and the throw a lemon slice in it, quite tasty and seriously feels really nice when you have a cold.

Up until about 6 years ago, I was seriously addicted to Coke (the cola) to the point that I would polish off an entire 2 liter bottle per day...

I was also really jittery, had trouble sleeping, and was getting nasty migraines on an almost daily basis.

Stopped drinking it to cut out caffeine from my diet.

I think that in the last 6 years I've probably had like, 3 glasses of it, at most.


I do drink an assload of lemon-lime soda though. Sprite, 7-up, etc. Not nearly as addictive as coke, but still damn delish, especially with a meal

I figure the acidity drops quickly over time. So it helps remove battery corrosion, but I doubt it would remain acidic enough to corrode for an entire year. I thought the deal with tooth corrosion wasn't about the acid in the drink, but about the acids that form from sugars over time?

Coke has a pH of around 3.00, which is comparable to many fruit juices and wines.
