FIXT!! need someting green, red and sticky to clear my mind!
as I go through Session View on my Launch Pad I need a way to keep track of which tracks are the ones populated with clips I want to keep. for now I'm using pieces of white tape but that's pretty lame.
I'm thinking a row of little toggles that can be red or green, something that can stick to the bottom of the LP, just below the last row of buttons, or on the bottom edge itself.
I keep my Session View window to 8 tracks (Group Tracks FTW) so moving the focus isn't an issue. if it is, I can work around it.
it sucks to pick out 6 out of 8 tracks of cool loops only to launch a clip and lose the core loop.

I am actually not being funny here, but why not just delete the clips you don't want?

You live in CA, there's sticky nugs everywhere, isn't there?
Can't entirely understand what you're trying to do, but I have noticed that deactivated clips will still show up as clips in session view on the LP iirc,

I took the 'All The Breaks' sample set (300 old school breaks which come 3 breaks per track, unlooped, disorganized but tasty) and made a 6 tracks * 50 scene chunk of clips with it. track 7 are EIC drum loops I made by hand that go along with each scene as the BOOM BOOM backing. (Track 8 is a Group Tracks of 8 playback tracks.)UKRuss wrote:I am actually not being funny here, but why not just delete the clips you don't want?
what I like to do is browse through and find loops that sound good together, when I get 6 or so together I save then as a new scene then grab the bass or whatever and go from there.
I've been doing this with the Launch Pad's mixer view, I don't stop clips I just turn off their volume. I need a better way of marking which tracks are already playing loops I want to keep.
I tried nugs but they just fall on the floor, total mess.

I think I have something worked out.
assign the bottom most row of buttons to the a/b x-fade assignment. it's a solid orange when on B and blinks when it's on A or nothing.
it's a start. maybe assigning them to something else could get me that red and green indicators.

edit - assigning them to a send makes the LEDs go from orange to orange blinky. closer. sticky and orange, no red, no green. I tried messing with the assignment range, no dice.

I cant believe that there is nothing to assign them to that makes them green its really detrimental to my page layout- yellow wouldn't hut.

I'm much less concerned about the color than the function. any 'tard that's gonna say it's screwed cause of the color is, well, a windowlicker that misses the point, make music.
