Alchemy group buy stuff?

there's nothing 'wrong' with them per se, it's just I was expecting/hoping for tuts with more depth or coverage of unusual techniques. The tuts I saw were really basic RTFM types... maybe I didn't spot the new ones.

Personally, I like to WTFM too, so for me the tuts do the trick.

Guess they're starting with the basics and taking it from there, seems that it's an ongoing project.

I think this is exactly what these are... like a visual manual.

I personally like this as I don't want to print out the manual and I hate reading on the computer screen.

tutorials are decent. kinda leave me hanging. it would be dope if they got guest sound designers to do tutorials. that would be a great selling point for them too. "Exploring Alchemy with Richard Devine." i would nut myself. 9 ropes.

As pointed by elxicano (thanks again dude!!) almost all of the Camel Audio group buy bonuses have now been released. While we could have made the content exclusive to group buy participants, we felt this would not be very fair to the people who already owned Alchemy, and it would not make sense to keep it from new users as the new content make Alchemy an even better deal. To put it another way, the income we raised by running the group buy will be invested back in to making Alchemy, the sound banks and our other plug-ins even better. Started work on the Alchemy tutorial series

The tutorial series is a work in progress. We have around 12 topics in total that will be covered once the series in complete. Initially we are focussing on the basics of Alchemy, which will lead to more advanced topics like additive re-synthesis and morphing. The idea is that each tutorial builds on the knowledge learned in the previous tutorials and I think IIRs (who was commissioned to create the tutorials) is doing a fantastic job. You have to remember that not all Alchemy users are synth guru's, so we need to take it slow to get everyone up to speed. Also, we held a video tutorial competition late last year. One reason for the competition was to find someone who could produce a professional series of tutorials for us, with IIRs being the winner. 18 entries were received, you can find links for each entry in this thread:

the tutorials were laaaaaaaaammmmmeeee... I scoured the user & download several times in fevered disbelief looking for the 'real' tutorials, you know, the good ones. Did I pay for those tuts ? I hope not

As pointed out above, we are working on more tutorials that cover advanced topics but we have to take it slow so that everyone benefits. If you want to let us know what kind of topics you would like to see covered, or specific areas of the interface, then please tell us - we love to get feedback from our users so that we can provide better software, sounds and other stuff (like the tutorials!!).

Mystery sample set

This is the last remaining item that we promised in the group buy. Unfortunately, for reasons we can't go in to here, a deal we had lined up with a well known third party sample content company fell through right at the last minute. It sucks, but it happens, and it means we will have to work out something else. This will take some time as we want to ensure the samples we include are high quality so that the users not only have great new samples to mangle, but the sound designers have great material to work with, which will lead to better presets for the users.
