8.1.1 Crash
Every time I open up ableton it loads my template set and proceeds to crash. Usually it finishes loading the template set after which I try to start a new project--I then see the busy cursor on my screen until I eventually have to force quit. I am running 8.1.1 on osx 10.6.2 (though I just tried out the new beta version, which also crashes). I think it may be possible that the crashing is caused by my template set..is there any way to bypass this and just load a new project? Either way I haven't been able to do anything on live for weeks now which is quite frustrating so I'd be willing to completely uninstall and reinstall if need be (up till now I've simply reinstalled but live continues to load my template set etc.)
Re: 8.1.1 Crash
It should help if you remove your Template.als and your Preferences.cfg files.
You´ll find these files here:
•Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton
•Windows (Live 4 and later versions): C:/Documents and Settings/yourusername/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preferences
•Windows Vista: c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/ableton/live/ preferences/
Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1.Launch Explorer.
2.Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3.Check "Show hidden files and folders."
Best,
Christian
