i see a simple definition of dj, that tells exactly that: it's name. which is quite important, not? else, what's the name good for?

and if one uses bridge, and plays synths realtime by scratching-n-mixing the vinyl, and having some live set loaded, is it then not a dj? would not be pre-recorded music, then.

Fine, so nobody is allowed to use the term disc jockey unless they jockey discs...

So I'm going to coin the term 'Digital Jockey' starting right now and define it as anyone who plays digitally recorded music. I think I'll call them DJ's for short ;)

@ Salty P - I think I feel the same way. I don't know why I keep clicking on the link. I bet moths feel this way until the porch light gets turned out.

You should use vinyl that was recorded to .mp3, mixed with Traktor, rendered to .wav, recorded to cassette and put in the deck. Press play. Walk away and have a beer and a Dope Joint. Find some ladies and get your D J'ed. Then go have a Denny's Jumbo breakfast with Diced Jalepenos and Drink your Juice. get home before Dawn Jump starts the day. If you left your car thats okay just Don't Jay walk and every thing will be fine. Stay away fromDead Jackrabbit's and Damn Juveniles and remember; its okay to laugh at Dumb Jokes.

That would be SJ. It doesn't roll off the tongue as well as the others but sausage probably shouldn't.

Bottom line: Just play however you want, because no matter what you do...someone is going to think it sucks regardless.

yeah, i know that fix :)

in general, i told people from the start i don't want the DJ in front of my name. i just don't like it. still, my first full ableton live only gig will be end of the month, and it's everywhere, again, written "DJ Davepermen". in the end, one can't get this fixed :)

in other news, i Propose SM, Sound Mixer, to the list of options... without any second thoughts about other meanings :)
