if the pads feel right, trigger finger could kill the mpd!
my drum pads purchase is now officially postponed

There was a guy on the midibox forum doing the same thing, he has
apparently been on it for a while.

lol yeah I can imagine

just doing the LCD interface for setting the
params is gunna take forever.

yeah, I think he's doing a mod of the existing midibox design, so that he doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, I gues...

sweetwater here in indiana has them listed on the site but it doesnt say if its available.

everyone else who has them for sale at $199 is saying April 17th.

Yes I did , better then expected but... M audio is such a shit quality company that I am still sceptical about it, though in a way seems they best product ever. I found out that Akai MPD uses same pads like on the MPC 4000 they told me about number of sensors etc which is different then MPC 1000 so my interest getting that one is gone. Since Akai was 100 yard away from M audio no A/B test that I will definitely do going to some shop with my notebook, I dont care for price difference but like the faders idea. Btw Messe became useless and boring , except for certain female, was not worth going, but I am half an hour away, to go from Holland ? not worth.

can you tell us some more about the pads? how big, responsive etc were they?

without really having a/b'ed them, which unit did you like better and why?

btw i don't have car, so going was out of the question for me. i haven't heared much exciting news from there either. well maybe the Nord Stage, if you are a gigging keys player that is.
so did you make any pics of the hot chicks?

I want to hear from experienced Akai users what they feel. I was amazed because I didnt expect it will work at all, it is M audio- means works properly only on photo- definitely better then pads on Korg or Yamaha RS 7K.
Regarding Clavia that was the schock for me, I saw it 1 hour after show opening and there was stuck key. I like everything about Clavias except the keys that are not up to any pro standard, but if they cannot get shit together for the fair what to expect in real life, seems they are more Ikea then Volvo
