Thanks for the many tips axel!

Thankfully the promoter is a friend who has been over to play at our parties in Bristol and I'm sure he won't screw me. In fact as it's a benefit gig I am playing for my air fare (already paid), a room to stay for the weekend (in his house), free beer and nothing else (that seems enough for me!)

My friend showed me some pics from when he played at the cross club - the place just looks incredible. My gig is the Friday night and I hoped I would go to the cross club on the Saturday - however they are showing films that night - might still go for the ambience!

cross is incredible indeed, they always have some 'art and culture' going next to the club nights, the whole building is one creative installation and space...

have fun man!

Hmmm, not a conditioner as such - I do use a surge protector, but it doesn't specifically regulate the voltage. Hoping that will be ok for my laptop and my controllers are all battery powered!
you don't need a conditioner, it is as save as in germany, just a standard europe two pin adapter, and off you go... rocking!
Me thinks you misread me my friend.
What's a conditioner got to do with an adapter fella? They are totally two different things :?

nothing, they are two totally different things... i just meant that he only needs an adapter, but no power conditioner, because the power over there is as stable as in germany or england. it is not a 3rd world country, you know?

I understand that a power conditioner is not always needed but if he wants to play it safe he should bring one (especially as they are cheep). I guess it depends on the electrics of the building (they are not always good my friend), I can only speak of my experience in France :)
