Post by bhc303 » Sat Mar 06, 2010 1:33 am

at the moment I have my suite 8 library on my mac book pro, thinking of relocating it to an external drive.

been told my computer will run better?

pros and cons?

where do you have yours set up?

Got mine right on the HD, nothing special but I usually don't use the Library, I'm just draggin my own samples in and making my own sounds with massive, operator, analog, etc and recording drum loops, synth lines, bass, blah blah blah.

Some people choose to put it on an external, or a seperate internal drive, if I'm not mistaken you'd need a fast drive to pull it off or else you might be better off just using the one hard drive..

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon enough.

i have two locations and swap them in live's preferences, i have my main library with the full suite content and all bells and whistles on my external main audio work drive (eSATA) and the smaller 'standard' library on my internal HD, and i point them with live's preferences back and forth, well it is not very often, because the machine is to 80% hooked up in the studio anyways.
