Dual view ???

Post by iskandar » Sat Mar 26, 2005 1:47 am

being able to view the arrange and session page at the same time, i have dual monitors and this would make life so much easier , i need to see the midi/audio routing and im sick of switching back and forth ..

I can see where this may have become an issue espcially for more advanced users.

I would like to see ableton sacrifice the visual simplicity alittle and at least allow the option of a windowed interface.

(some of us have the video cards to support it, in studio at least.)

This would make it possible to see both views on even a large single monitor. And, the option to switch back to consolidated window mode would make laptop preformace optimal.

yeahhh... I like that...
What about two 'view modes'?

Composing mode and Performing mode...

Think the MIDI clip view has to be larger...
Maybe a seperate window would be great cause it's too small right now..

totally agree with this:

after a certain point the stripped down simplicity gets to be more of a hinderance to workflow

I think they should seriously consider allowing us to split the session and arrange views on seperate screens

also, allowing us to edit MIDI right in the track view like a tradition sequencer - clip view editing is awesome for some things, terrible for big picture editing - we should have both

and - the anti-popup thing only goes so far - small (very small) temporary popups for coloring / namiing clips and other routine chores would go a long way
