In lieu of getting my hands on NI Maschine (not until a) the Block is sold, and b) I can convince my wife I'd actually use it) I'd like to get a bit of basic MPC functionality going on with my Block controller.
I've got a series of banks set up to control the 'pads' on Live's drum rack, and various arpegiators set for note repeat. However, the one thing that is missing is the '16 Levels' function. Obviously I'm not expecting miracles as the Block doesn't send velocity, however, is there a way to set up some kind of psuedo-level control using velocity plugins?
Any help would be good but as I said, I ain't expecting miracles!
Cheers - Logic.

quick idea: duplicate the sample to 16 pads and add a vel. plugin with your wanted vel. to it.

Good idea, and probably a sh**load quicker than setting up a variety of complex routings.mr.ergonomics wrote:quick idea: duplicate the sample to 16 pads and add a vel. plugin with your wanted vel. to it.

or:
drop a Velocity device in front of your drumrack and map one of the Block's faders to the Out Hi knob. ruff n ready.
or or:
if your Block triggers notes chromatically, use the top 2 rows as velocity selectors (1-16) by doing as above, but mapping the top 16 buttons to Velocity's Out Hi instead of a fader (hold 1st pad and tap last pad to map as scaled).
