it runs very stable here, apart from some occasional crashes.it's certainly not a rough beta to me.
and i run mac osx10.5.8 and Live 7.

ahhh, well this is in years, really years the only piece of gear that really managed to create instantly lust of having it.
yup,i had exactly the same "problem"
and it totally fits my attempt to have a perfect ultra small travel studio and performance setup, maschine can be my DAW / Live controller and Traktor controller (loving my padKONTROL, which will be then redundant), all in one, plus making music anywhere...
it's truly great that it also double-functions as a really good midi controller.i had an apc-40,man i sold that like a week after i bought Maschine.best buy i ever made.

and i see that NI is lately squashing the balls of the concurrence. i like that. makes the others have to work even harder.
yep, other companies could really learn from N.I.(i'm looking at YOU,Ableton)nothing against Ableton, every controller has its uses and users, but what N.I. managed to do is almost true hardware-like-integration(browsing,slicing,you name it),
plus the ability to record almost any parameter in Maschine's patterns in REALTIME sometimes makes me think like "what the hell is Ableton doing?!?!?"still no ability to do that in Live other than with MFL.
just my opinion,no need to start flaming.

nothing is more frustrating that another controller which still doesn't give music producers on computers(like myself)a true hands-on experience.

i would suggest to Ableton to get their priorities straightened out and start doing what customers really want to see in Live,or they might find themselves losing customers to their competition.

but hey, maybe they already have realised they need to do this, and are on the verge of releasing something that will make Live completely(or almost mousefree),and make their competitors s%^t their undies.
i hope they do.

i love Ableton.
i love N.I.
i love good dynamic music.

i salute you all!

Is there a way to measure how this update raises the sales of Maschine without working at the NI sales departement?

Does Maschine spit out the midi file when slicing?

If so then my mind might be made up, I shouldnt be buying gear now but ....... 8O
ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection

if you mean to ask if it automatically creates a sequence from the slices(like live does),then the answer is YES.

Ok, Step closer here. So everything can be done on the hardware, creating markers, zooming in, all that right? Plus Clip Automation and full blown sequencing right?

I noticed in the video there is a slice marker "remove" button, what about slice marker "add"?

yes,all of that is controllable from the hardware.
like i said in another post,it's close to 98% hardware control, which covers the most important and fun stuff you want to control.

I noticed in the video there is a slice marker "remove" button, what about slice marker "add"?
"remove" just removes the currently selected slice.
"add" adds another slice marker.

bear in mind that you can have a maximum of 16 slices i you select "apply to",which assigns each slice to a different pad in a group(a group can have a maximum of 16 pads).
this is useful if you want to individually process slices.

if you select "apply",it assigns every slice to one single pad,but since each pad on Maschine can be played chromatically with a keyboard, you can have much more than 16 slices.
here all slices will be affected by processing.
in this mode you can have 16 sliced loops per group,so that's 128 loops(there are 8 groups) at the same time per instance of Maschine.

per group you can have up to 64 different patterns, all with different notes/automation.
these can easily be arranged in scenes, and scenes can switch according to a grid,or off-grid(like legato mode in Live's clips).

oh man, writing this fuels my creativity again..................

booting up Maschine NOW!

cheers!

maschine is absolutely ace.

the 1.5 beta is really, really good. maschine still misses a few features but that list get shorter with each update.

Is it now possible to quickly assign and record pad hits from Maschine into a miditrack whilst playing the sounds from the maschine library into another audio track? I thought I saw something like that in the videos but it doesn't work for me so far... too bad.

Still struggling on the live/maschine-integration.

Any hints?

EDIT: watched the video again, now it works, BUT: I need to plug a midicable in order to receive mididata from Maschine. Can you guys receive midi from Maschine with virtual midi ports somehow? Maschine doesn't see my midiyoke-ports.

i can't help you as i'm on a mac - i recommend that you ask over on the native instruments 1.5 beta board.
you're more likely to get a quick answer on there...
