Is APC40 ideal for Studio Use?
Is APC40 ideal for Studio Use?
I am looking for a controller for my workflow. Something that will let me mess around in both session and arrangement view and tweak settings on the effects and plugins seamlessly.
Re: Is APC40 ideal for Studio Use?
What else...? Got an APC and nativeKontrol and i'm fine...
Re: Is APC40 ideal for Studio Use?
i actually think it is more perfect for the studio then for live use, that thing is huge. and can't be bus powered.
it is a well designed controller, though... if you don't have to lug it around.

yep..its good in the studio but live it lacks overview and has to much second thaugt operation...
with better software it could be good live aswell.. the problem with the limitetd clip matrix remains ..
ok., software could work around that by enabeling the stop and select rows as clip launch rows..while dealig with the optical indication of the selected clip with other measures..and having select and stop clip function as secondary operations...

http://www.nativekontrol.com/
some patches that add functionality one would have expected in the first place from products like the apc.. at least part of it...
initially the apc didnt had the scrolling.. they implemented it after native control brought it up..but havent implemeted it so nicely.. the initila native control scrolling was fast..the ableton version is for retards again..
however what is not good on booth version that scrolling cant be switched of on stage.. its only good in the studio when you wor with looking at the screen..

I love mine for both studio and live use. Fits right in my laptop backpack and is a great on the go solution. I've been doing drum recording lately for my new LP and have dubbed the APC-40 along w/ my laptop and interface my porta-studio.
