Hey every one Im trying to make a jackin house track. Its kind of an indian style track mixed with a jackin house haha its hard to explain but for some reason i cant make it sound how i want it. It sounds weak and kind of plain, it would be great if some1 could give it a listen and give me some advice on beefing it up or maybe a link to some tutorial videos/forums? Cheers i would appreciate any advice a lot

Re: Need some advice on a track... PLEASE
Ok, it's kinda hard to try and 'fix' your track without having controls but i'll give it a try
The vocal that starts at the beginning could use a little bit of reverb to make it sound deeper richer and less plain. The toms that come in then either need a rise in gain or you need to EQ them because now they are a bit too soft.
Then the drum part, the drums are too tender for this track I think. You would want a more powerful, louder kick. Then turn up the volume of the hi-hats a bit in comparison to the rest of the mix and stretch them now and then for variety. Delay on the percussion is also a nice effect to use. I think this will already make quite a difference,
Hope my advice helps you,
Sander

+ 1 for (light) reverb on the vocals.
there's a compression trick called New York Drums or some such...
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=90035
that might give you the beef you seek.
If you apply that, you will likely have to remix the other elements... 'Save As' before hand and give the set a new name... then go to town - the big apple.
Also, it sounds kind of sparse about 40 seconds in... maybe add something there??? I dunno, but don't let that vocal carry the mix. You have more talent then that vocal sample will ever give you credit for.
my .02 I don't know shit about House music... I'm usually wasted when I listen to it.
