Who own's NI Maschine "Academic Version" & IS NOT in school?

Random question to some Maschine owners...I saw a few vendors on eBay who are selling the "academic versions" & some of them hint to a "don't ask - don't tell" policy where they arn't requiring you to submit them school registration information or anything, But did mention that once the software is registered the license is NON-TRANSFERABLE for furture resale. I was just wondering if anyone did this with a Maschine & had any problems registering their software/license through Native Instruments? The Maschine is hella cheaper for the "academic version"...Just a thought---ThanX guys

US versions of the Maschine don't need proof that you are a student. You just can't sell the student Maschine afterwards.
You may register it once - that's it. But if you prefer to try before buy you can run it for 30 minutes in demo mode and then sell it or send it back. But usually that's enough time to get you addicted

^Gotcha---Thanks. I suppose proof of school registration is only necessary through the dealer/vendor NOT the manufacturing company eh? Interesting...I'm quite sure if purchased I will NOT be transfering my license

I've been "demoing" it this way for a while. The samples are great, but the advantage of maschine software vs drum racks is close to none.

you're never going to 'get' maschine by using a cracked version of just the software.
maschine is all about the hardware/software integration.

the software alone feels like any other drum sequencer, drum racks/idrum/guru etc etc.
the hardware/software comb is a totally different animal - it feels like an instrument.

best bit of kit i've ever bought.

The only real way to "demo" Maschine is to use it with the hardware. You just won't "get" what it's about and why it's a total game changer by only trying out the software by itself.

yup, i only tested it for about 30 - 40 minutes once, and it is all about having the power from it's own software plus the integration into DAWs like Live or whatever else without the need anymore to stare constantly onto the screen, it totally feels like hardware but with having the power and flexibility of modern software.

it is not about being better then drum racks or whatever, it is about 'leaving' the computer to a very high extend but still working with all the great software.

The only problem is I spend more on the drugs than the gear cost, seems pretty inefficient but it's a heluvarush!
