Funny...I was thinking just the same thing bout half an hour ago...However it was about the waitress who served me lunch. She was all like rushing around helping everybody out and stuff with her hair like all pulled back but falling out over her flushed face because shes like working the rush hour lunch shift & stuff. I was all like "Yeah baby - You work it - You serve that food you diner queen you"

It's almost cool to say Ipad = Fail.. it's getting old. Nobody has touched it yet and nobody saw new Ipad apps..
At least I'm expecting some great secundairy apps controlling Live/plugins like lemur stuff. (just being open minded here).

I don't see the iPad apps matching the sophistication of the Lemur, at least not immediately. But the price difference and the Lemur essentially being a one trick pony (regardless of how sophisticated it is) does give some edge to the iPad.

I'll be curious if this somehow drives the price down for the Lemur, even though they really aren't making that much of a profit off the hardware, but it could possibly drive the price down for the components that would pass the savings down to us.

Isn't latency a big issue with all of the iPhone/iPod Touch MIDI control apps? I can't stand latency, and any noticable latency with a controller is a 100% deal breaker for me. When I pull a fader down, turn a knob, or press a key, it needs to happen that instant. No exceptions.

Am I dreaming this, or didn't a lot of people complain about latency for those apps?

Not really sure about the latency personally. I had fun with those apps for maybe 10 minutes before I saw it as a novelty on a screen that small that I didn't really see any real world application for.

Depends on the app. I found all the iTouchMidi apps to be extremely responsive.

I was just wondering....

If we have an PC or MAC with an touch screen large monitor we can do ALL this directly on live interface, without the need to buy a lemur, iPad, m4l or wherever, just a COMPUTER that does not have an keyboard, only the screen....

For example, imagine running live on this http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/touchsmart/ 8O 8O 8O 8O

Simply put, no. Or at least it wouldn't be as productive. There's too much going on in the GUI of Live that you would have no interest in touching of accessing. With a touch pad interface you can design exactly what you want access to whether it's on the computer screen or not and you also don't have to fudge around with the many things you don't need to use. Also you wouldn't have the physics engine that leads to all kinds of creative fun.

Who in their right mind would buy a Lemur now? Even Akai's SynthStation for the iPhone/iPad is already showing off physics capability:
