Re: First music ever posted_Comments please welcome
I listened to Time Synopsis and Running.
I think both were well produced and mixed and have a commercial appeal for club DJs - neither of these tracks really are my bag, but I've been in plenty of clubs where I'm sure the DJ's would jump all over this kind of material. Definately got the pumping bass thing working well. One thing to be a little aware of is being cliched, I was hearing one or two predicatable sounds such as that tape reel screeching to a halt effect, which is a cool effect but gets old pretty soon.
I think for the sound and genres you're aiming at, this will be appreciated by many who enjoy that style of music.

^^
Thanks for taking the time to listen leeds. Appreciate your comments. I admire your talents and experience, so your positive compliment re production and mixing has completely gone to our heads.
(joking)
I know what you listened to is not your bag, but pitty you didn't play the Chill/Remix 'Sunshine', which is a remake of Erasure's 'Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime', for an easier listen.
Fair remark about the cliche thing, but we are writing for a certain audience and are still developing our sound.
Thanks again,
Si

time synopsis
- the very very very first notes are too busy.
- the bass is panned to the right, put it in the middle.
- whole mix is to the right.
- nice break at 3:42
- good track, ending is fine
I like this stuff!! overall sounds like a good mix, just off center.
I'm high
- also sounds panned to the right. I swapped my headphones around, yep it's panned to one side.
- cool trippy song.
- 10 minutes?!??! cool, it works, good writing.
running
- this one doesn't sound as well mastered as the others. it lacks mids.
- the melodic pad (almost stab-like) is pretty lo-fi, it drags the mix down. good sound, could be clearer, crisper.
- 5:00 - total breakdown, interesting, sounds like another song is playing. on the floor people might think the DJ played a song out to silence to start another one. the break might go too low. up to you.
- you do like writing long songs.
no matter, they work.
sunshine
- nice mellow track
- like the break at ~6:00 ending in "sunshine..."
OH YEAH, this is myspace. myspace sucks, always sounds like crap, these sound better than most. put these up on Sound Cloud, myspace is dead anyway.
Club Me-
(listening while I work...)
- that synth line gets repetitive, dominates the song too much. nice breaking it up a bit, maybe do more.
Beyond Our Sun
- trippy track.
- the kick drum could use a little more presence.
- this one isn't as polished as the others. the pads are a bit too lo-fi. then again, myspace audio quality blows.
systemic contradiction
- 0:50 - the bass is at the right level, the other parts are a bit quiet.
- nice build up. overall sounds too quiet.
- it can get cliche to have a 'deep thought' vocal line in a song. I do it too, just saying.
- 6:23 another nice breakdown
- I like this track's basslines.
that's my $0.02, no criticism, just trying to help. tough to give details with so many songs to listen to, that was almost an hour!!! no doubt you can write songs, these all have nice breaks, build ups intro and outros. it's hard to tell through myspazz but maybe just some practice producing tracks and you're your own hit machine and production company.

Re: First music ever posted_Comments please welcome
Thanks a heap Tone.
An hour listening and critical comment from yourself is sooooo very much appreciated.
Thanks for pointing out a couple of balance problems. Ohh no, I'm going deaf in one ear.
Club Me & Running are probably the least finished tracks and need work.
I agree with your comments.
I'll revisit 'Beyond Our Sun' and 'Systemic Contradiction' and tidy up the couple of anomalies you highlighted.
Thanks again for your time and input. Its a great learning tool.
I know that My Spazz sound quality is shit, but it's a start.
We will load some tracks on Sound Cloud in the near future.
Cheers,
Si
