Ableton CPU issues

macbook pro 2.4 late 2008 4gb ram core 2 duo.

why does ableton 8 use so much cpu power.
and it has crashed more times on me than protools and reason combined in
the last 4 years.

i spent a lot of money on this program the most i have ever actually spent on software.
i want to like this program becuase of the way its supposed to work.
but i am truly disapointed.

are the cpu issues going to be fixed? i don't even use plugins only on board fx, and its still
crazy gliching and crashing.

ok so its live 8.1 update. not 8.1.1
i still spent money on a program that crashes and overloads on cpu
that is the point.

There are a lot of threads about this. I think Ableton doesn't know why this is happening. It is extremely abnormal and is taking a lot of people "away" from Live, regarding live-performance.

i was on ableton 7 LE for DJ purposes for a long time and did the rather expensive upgrade to Live 8 suite - definitely noticing a huge difference in performance, freezing, crashing and glitches in playback ... does the upgrade to 8.1.1 deal with this at all?

No! I bought live 8 thinking it was as flawless as 7 and got rather disappointed. Bought 8.1.1. Send report to technical support. The more people send, the faster it will be solved.

yeah the program has so much potential, come on guys i want to use your products!!
8.1.1 is doing ok at the moment but im not pressing it much and the cpu level is still scaring me.

i use propellerhead stuff as well, i can run there shit on anything.
just more stability ableton pleasee. i know you guys are working on it , but when you do figure it out
make sure all the people that already paid get a solid version with no extra charge.
