Automap 3.4,Launchpad, 8.1.1, win 7 64, 2.8, 8gb not workin

Just letting folks know who are on win 7 64 bit that the new auto map 3.4(not sure how new) is not playing well together. I played with it on a vista 32 bit laptop and not problems. I put it on my win 7 laptop and It takes forever to load the two up, and as well when it finally gets up and running it says that the launchpad is not connected yet it works in ableton as it functions normally.

I am sure that it is just a new bug just letting folks who are on win 7 64

I took off midi yoke and virtual cable, and some other stuff.

This is what happens.

Start up ableton live
then auto map kicks in (it is getting faster, but the first few times it took so long I assumed it was crashing)
At first it acts normal...all the pads go red and auto map sees the launchpad
Then all of a sudden it just kicks into normal ableton live mode, and automap says that the launchpad is offline.!?!?
I'll be honest that I've been mainly messing with the apc 40 so I might do something very wrong that is simple.

There seems to be no real difference when I try to mess with things like toggle, step, as far as User 2 settings for pads.
I also can't get auto map to work in reason. Now my question is should I only be able to use auto map when rewiring into ableton, or seperate cause when I open either reason or record nothing on the launchpad turns on, even though reason sees the launchpad under the controllers section. Whenever you see this if you would not mind giving me a shout back but I found novation lauchpad.com (or something like that so I'll see)

I tried that last night a couple times....then pulled off virtual cable and midi yoke and still have the same problems....

I'm goin leave it alone today until some other folks get back to me in other chat rooms....If you can think of anything else let me know but so far no good

try to switch a usb port for the launchpad...

I thought it was impossible to run the launchpad in "automap mode" when it is connected to live?

Live sorta hi-jacks the whole launchpad, user 1 and 2 modes just send midi data, they avoid automap completely. Infact, the launchpad operates fine in live WITHOUT automap even installed - I'm like 95% sure...

I've been trying to get the launchpad to switch between automap / non automap modes (with the SL MkII this is easy, as it has an "automap / advanced mode" button) I don't think the launchpad was really developed to be used like that unfortunately, and I haven't found a way of switching automap on/off. Anyone figured that one out yet?

I have a bad feeling about automap 3.4 also - it seems fairly buggy. I can't click on my launchpad in "devices" like with the SL MkII - the only way to enter the setup page for the launchpad is to press "view" on the unit... Oh, and only if Live is closed, otherwise the launchpad doesn't respond to automap...

Thanks for the info......I thought I would be able to use auto map on the fly during performance. I've done some reading today and it does seem that automap is a little buggy but at least you set me straight about how things work. I'm coming around to the launchpad after watching a few vids.

Question: when setting knobs under user 2 via holding the first and last pad in midi map(transition works well from min to max) but under user 1 it does not seem to work well (it skips from min to max abruptly. As well how do I find what they call control maps under FX section (or is that Max for live and java programming)
i am just not sure how to get it to work. I scrolled thru and saw CC's and then I saw under user that there looked like some drum pad set up when you scroll far left. How do you use that. I'll post this in the launchpad section

I've got 3.4 (redownloaded yesterday so i assume 3.41 . I finally figured out that automap turns off when ableton starts up and then I can just hold down user 2 and down to switch back and forth (should be able to use automap while in ableton)

I got another questions about automap and komplete 6

When you use automap plugins there is a few buttons at the bottom of the plugin that are not normally there. turned them off and on and I am not sure what they are suppose to do. Once again if may have to do with automap pro or max for live stuff but just checking to see. Mabye i just don't get automap yet, but I am not that impressed but I'll keep at it.
