Sorry if this is easy and I'm missing it, but I am having trouble programming the pads to trigger impulse sample slots? What I'm seeing is samples 1-8 are set to notes C0-C1 and don't highlight in MIDI map mode.
I can't figure out:
A) how to change the pads on the axiom to send note messages (seem to be set to CC only) OR
B) how to change the impulse slots on Live to CC messages
I'm using Live 6. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: axiom 25 programming help
Set your Axiom to program 17. The impulse is mapped to C3-B3. When you click on the impulse instrument or on the track that has it, your Axiom will be automatically mapped to it. If you are using a drum rack, it will auto' mapped starting at C0. You do not need to map the pads with midi map mode.

I believe if it's the same as the axiom 61 which I use, you have to have channel set to channel 10 and then they just do it. What I'd like to know if you ever find out is how to remap those notes so that drum kits in Kore player by native instruments play what I want thru the pads. I think the answer to the question for ableton is use channel 10.
Have fun. PS. If you make your computer talk text to you (which is easy on a mac and I'm sure it can be done on a windows) those manuals become easier to read. Sad there is such a lack of free tutorials on this stuff isn't it. Everything's got to cost more and more cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers.

Re: axiom 25 programming help
Oh yeah I forgot about program presets that do that too.
Hey friend. Any idea of if I can choose individual notes I like in a kore player drum kit and map the pads to play only the eight I like. Kore seems to use different midi notes. I think I read that they don't do the regular midi presets. Is that called the GI or something?
Newbie needs good sites to read all this midi stuff if you know of any. Primarily a guitar/bass/drum player, now in love with axiom keyboard too and wild about possibilities.
Thanks in advance.

Re: axiom 25 programming help
I also have an Axionm 61 and according to the Enigma software, the program that is best used for Live is 17 which I use all the time. Of course prog 10 has similarities in settings but not specifically setup for Ableton. Any pad can be assigned any midi note number with the Ctrl Assign button. Most of Kore's kits start at C0 which I think is note number 36 but it all depends on which plugin engine is used (ie. Battery, Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth, etc.). Good luck!

Hi Tlennon. You sound much more experienced than me and I didn't see you'd replied before I did. Would you consider doing a paid lesson over skype? I don't get the stuff very well from manuals but would love a half hour or two with someone who knows what they're talking about and then record the stuff for my own reference later?
Hopefully, Aidan.
