I've got a MIDI track recorded, did some volume rides and now want to bend the notes. But every time I record it wipes out the volume ride. Doesn't matter if:
* The volume automation does not appear (i.e. Fades/Device Chooser is set to none)
* The Lock Envelopes button is checked (which logically SHOULD protect ALL automation envelopes)
This is a ridiculously lame bug! So tired of having to re-set all of these volume rides!
ABLETON -- THE LOCK ENVELOPE BUTTON should protect everything, or maybe there needs to be a separate button for protecting envelopes while recording? Or maybe, just maybe OVR should NEVER erase anything!

Re: automation erased -- insanely lame
Hi,
Make sure when you are recording your automation that the track record arm button is not selected. This will protect your previously recorded automation.
I do agree with you however that the automation system could do with a rethink. Especially as the above does not work when recording midi cc data as opposed to remote automation data. In this case each line of automation has to sit on a new midi track to avoid deleting it.
Thanks
Keith
