newbie vs "back to arrangement" bottom

Post by damianrecomienda » Fri Mar 12, 2010 1:41 am

i have a track with several vsti's parameters envelopes.
when i render this track, i get an empty file.

i'm doing something wrong with the "arrangement" mode.
i never use the arrangement view, but, i just don't know why, the red "back to arrangement" bottom is on.
how i do to fix the envelopes i made to this track?

thnks,
damian.

if you never use the arrangement view, then the back to arrangement button will ALWAYS be on

Is there any midi or wav info in the arrangement view or are the envelopes in the clips themselves? Not that it matters but when you render make sure the range is selected in the arrangement view or make sure you enter the total amount of bars you are renderring in the export to audio msg box.

tlennon,
there's no midi or wav in the arrangement view.
the envelopes are on the midi clip in the session view.
the selection is okey when I render, the file's duration es okey.
what happens is that live doesn't reads the envelopes I draw so the vsti has not the rigth settings to sound.

=/

i just dont undestand

is there a way to make "back to arrangement" boton disable?

Even if you could make the arrangement button not turn red, you wouldn't get any difference. That button only determines which view to play back. So if there is nothing in the arrangement view, what would be the point. Respectfully asking.

The back to arrange button is normally red when launching clips from the session view and hasn't anything to do with your issue. If you exported your session to audio and got an empty file, then something is wrong with the clips or the way in which you are renderring to disk. I'm not sure about what you mean about the envelopes. If you can, could you post images of your screen and further descibe your issue?

i mean, if you are trying to render session view action, then something must be actively playing in the session view.

basically, whatever clips across various tracks, which are actively playing (triangles are green) will be rendered over the time span which you select in the dialog.

another way to put it is...

if the transport is stopped, before you are about to render,

if you were to hit the space bar and nothing else, would you hear exactly what you intend to capture in your rendering?
