EDIT: Monomeemu09.6 + MULTIPLE Stretta suite patches = BUGGY
Anyone else playing w/ these setup? I've heard the monomeemu093 is the better of monome simulators available on the interwebz for the Launchpad however using it seems to be buggy as hell with the Stretta suite patchs...Seems nothing wants to stay locked to it for control...Anyone having a hard time as much as me using this combination?

Re: Monomeemu093 + Stretta suite w/M4L = Buggy as hell
nope, didn't have any such problems. I use a macbook, OSX tiger, live 8.1 with m4l, monomeemulator093 and stretta suite. Could play for hours, even close the laptoplid and open it again and everything continued to work.

It seems to me after giving the old launchpad a bunch of hours the past few days I've found that it can't seem to handle lots of stuff going on at the same time. Check out the explanation that I tried to explain on the launch pad switching from user 1 to user 2 stutter thread. I just wanted a simple setup and it still stutter's on that. I don't know how it goin handle max for live stuff when I get around to buying it when it's less buggy
I am not going to give up cause I like the hardware's size but that might limit it's max ability (let down)
In a K induced Haze (the old K kind not the special K kind ), but an Asian spizz can sometimes bring me out! If ya don't get it, ya never will.

Re: EDIT: Monomeemu093 + MULTIPLE Stretta suite patches = BUGGY!
Let me rephrase myself---Playing w/ just 1 Stretta suite instrument/patch with the monomeemu093 + Launchpad seems to work just fine, however when you add another & perhaps even another patch is when things get cRaZy...Because you can assign multiple patchs to the same instance of monomeemu093, that what the row of buttons on the right side of the launchpad becomes dedicated for--to swith between differn't patches/instruments...But maintaing & keeping a stable connection with the patch to its correspoding bank on LP gets all wacked..The instrument either becomes unassigned or the light feedback will show the instrument functioning yet nothing is controllable or the light feedback will not show @ all! Anyways thanx guys for hearing my rant...Again anyfeed back would be great. Must be a Launchpad issue with the monomeemu093...Suppose that what happens when working with a bootlegged monome
Re: EDIT: Monomeemu093 + MULTIPLE Stretta suite patches = BUGGY!
2 things to address here:
- As the version number of the monomeemu indicates, it probably isn't completely void of bugs yet. I can speak from experience when I say its easy to make the Launchpad flip out when you start using complex combination's of patches. Especially if one uses MIDI in combination with API control.
If patches aren't designed to run together, you'll always have a patch that'll respond to something wrong when it comes to hijacking or remapping complete control of the launchpad.
I suggest you show your problems to the people who made the patches. In some cases they'll find the error simply by looking at the Max (error) window. (Which you can view by right-clicking on a device)
- Slowness of updates when in the user modes. That all comes down to whatever you're using in the user modes and it not being optimized. It could be that it sends multiple updates to the launchpad, causing it to choke.
Max for Live or no Max for Live, the only thing of note here is Novations Launchpad Programmers Guide.
It shows things such as updating 1 of 2 memory slots for lights which can be fully updated in about 100ms, making a switch from one mode to another appear almost instantly.

Is there any reason why you haven't tried the updates to Monomeemu? AFAIK they've updated it 4 or 5 times since the version you're using.
Re: EDIT: Monomeemu093 + MULTIPLE Stretta suite patches = BUGGY!
The real problem here is that the Launchpad uses USB 1.1. This has drastic implications for quick refreshes of LED's, especially for M4L patches that were written for the speedier Monome. 7up Live is a great example of this. The coders of that patch were kind enough to make a multicolor option for the Launchpad. The original patch used rapidly blinking LED's, which were a no go for the Launchpad.
