Strange skipping in track

Post by jonm10 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:02 pm

Maybe someone can shed some light on why this is happeneing. When working on a cd and I load my tracks into Live, some of the tracks sound like they are skipping, missing beats. I have confirmed these sound fine in any other player too. Below are the step I use to get to the problem
Platinum note the MP3, keep file as an MP3
Load into Live
Warp track
Load EQ into the track
Play track and sounds of skipping/missing beats occur

Any ideas what might be causing this? Alos when i record this set from within Ableton I can her the same issues when played back

thanks

I have the same problem in some of my tracks as well. I suspect it has something to do with the time encoding when the track is warped, but I have no idea how to remedy it. I'll let you know if I figure that part out. :)

check out the warp mode you're using. beats mode would do this.

different warp modes for different settings. complex and complex pro use much more CPU than the others.

firstly, what is this warp im hearing about?? how does it work? what does it do? when would i use it? secondly, when ive finished a track on abelton i just play it through and record straight into 'cool edit pro' and convert to mp3. ive not had any problems with 'skipping' on my tracks. am i doing this right or is this not what you are talking about? im very new to abelton (ive only been writting music for a year!)
