Hi Ive just got into using live again to try and write some songs, ive been using arranger mode ( i think thats what its called, where you play stuff along a timeline horizontaly) anyway Im using midi instruments and drumkit from hell and I can usually resize a repetitive loop by hovering the mouse on the edge until Iget a square bracket then stertching it to the required length. trouble is I am now working with the program in such a way that a clips I am woking with compared to the others are very small and Icannot resize them if needed as these small clips do not seem to have the square bracket appear when I hover over them with the mouse.
I can use the duplicate function to put them next to each other but this is not as convenient. is there anyway I can resize them like I did before, like a magnify function or something that will give me a clip of sufficient size to stertch like the others.Im gonna consult my books. I have live 7 and am reading an old copy of making music with ableton live by dave hill. also I will check the manual too. its just that in the middle of working on something i can never find the bit i need to read. thanks in advance....paul

Re: quick Noob question on resizing clips.......
to zoom in on the arrangement view itself - hover your mouse on the clip overview/zooming hot spot at the top of the arrangement view. It looks like a series of horizontal lines which run the length of your screen and is situated below the bar which displays various buttons such as TAP, tempo display ... play, stop, rec, OVR etc etc
- click and hold and then move the mouse up and down to zoom in or out
if you cannot see it then (on a mac cmd-alt-o) to make it appear and disappear, or go to ableton's view menu (top left of your screen) and click there and from the drop down menu select "overview"

Re: quick Noob question on resizing clips.......
oh wow, thanks, that works just how i need it, I can now zoom in sufficiently to make the clips big enough to resize with the square bracket, also they are easier to move around. Thanks for the help , this program is so big and busy, it took me years to learn photoshop so i guess this will come step by step, i just have to make sure I spend as much time practising my scales and riffs etc. thanks again, have a great day ...paul
