Question for guitar loopers

Hi

Just wanted to pick the brains of those that have tried looping (playing live or trying to) with Boss looper pedal vs Ableton and what are your thoughts on efficiency, set-up, limitations.

Of course, I know that with Ableton I could loop a lot more tracks and do more funky processing.

Im guessing with Ableton I would need a Behringer FCB foot controller

Just whatever opinions you have based on your experiences would be appreciated
