BUG? - where has the midi 'map' tab gone??!!

i just apdated to 8.1.1 from 8.0.8
a bit late i know, but then this is why i dont chase updates
they often make things worse
the midi map tab at the left of the screen (in blue midi mapping mode) for changing values or inverting them has disapeared.even in 8.0.8 which i still got running.i can open the tab but its competely blank
maybe something happened when i updated the library?
has this happened to anyone else?
i cirtainly cant make do without it

This happened to me when I upgraded to 8.1.0. I also found that going into and out of mapping mode caused the circular tabs on the left to disappear and eventually crash Live.

Totally uninstalling all instances of Live, every folder and file except for the Library, and then reinstalling 8.1 stopped it from happening.

also, how would i go about uninstalling but leaving library in place.wanna keep my own racks etc

unfortunately you misunderstand.though thanks for taking the time.
its really not there.
i have loaded sets with different mappings
made new mappings too.and the tab is empty
the mappings 'work' but they are not displayed.and niether is the help menue or 'get support'

This sounds very peculiar...

So, just to get this straight.. You either click the midi button (upper right corner) or hit "control-alt-m" to setup midi mappings. But the window which should display all the mappings isn't there?

yep

You did try to click the array in the upper left corner which displays and hides the browser window? Because if the browser window is closed before you go into midi mapping mode the window containing the mappings does not appear either. But click on the browser arrow (or hit control-alt-b) and it will appear again.

Is this perhaps what you meant?

yes i've tried that too.the view does appear.but its a blank shade of grey with nothing in in.no matter how many times i map various peramters.
i have to assume this is a bug.coz niether the help view nor the 'get support' windows open either!

have emailed support but just got a message saying theyre busy because of all the emails theyre getting about max for live!

this is really driving me nuts.have re-intalled again and the same thing.no tabs exept the main browser will behave correctly
